Don McCrea

My passion is helping individuals and their businesses achieve phenomenal, enduring success! I’ve worked with businesses of all sizes in a variety of capacities—sales, marketing, and systems development manager; business, management, marketing and sales consultant; intrapreneur (in-house entrepreneur); and systems designer; custom education solutions consultant; and educator. Throughout, my underlying purpose has been to create greatest value for those whom I serve.

I’m an original thinker who envisions what could be, develops the appropriate strategies, and leads the implementation. I engage clients and client needs with a consultative style which uncovers underlying issues, causes, and needs. I’m an influential leader who values diversity, cooperation, and teamwork—and the significant resulting benefits. I’m a quick study and rapid learner with an innate capacity to see connections, linkages, and synergies among seemingly diverse components and people.

Two themes underlie all aspects of my career. The first is the creation of significant value, which has led to an attitude of “What else is possible; what other ways can I/we contribute?” This theme is especially evident in my approach to custom educational solutions and to new business development—a striving to create such value for my customers that they truly value the custom solutions offered.

The second is my strong desire to see others succeed, which has led to conscious choices to work with individuals and businesses in both my business consulting and my pro bono work. In my pro bono work, I served on the advisory boards for the SBA’s Small Business Development Centers and for the federally-funded Workforce Investment Board.

I have sold and managed complex, custom solutions in both the computer and university business education industries to C-suite executives in major corporate and international clients for the past 25 or more years. My responsibilities have included initial client development, strategic needs assessment, custom solution development, proposal development and presentation, deal closure, contract development, solution project management and delivery, and client satisfaction and on-going relationship management.

I have almost 30 years of experience with Fortune 100 computer companies (NCR Corporation, Unisys, Digital Equipment Corporation) and the Department of Defense as a systems designer, senior systems development manager, product manager, and senior marketing and sales manager. I’ve sold and marketed to global clients in industrial, consumer, and government markets and am a consultant to business on marketing and sales issues.

I hold a Ph.D. in Executive Management from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University and an M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan. My AB degree in Mathematics is from Humboldt State University. I am a member of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics and the Association for Transpersonal Psychology.
